A: Although my husband and I listen to grown-up music, we have a 4-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son. So, our family life revolves around nursery rhymes, Super Simple Songs, Christian children’s songs, and kid focused secular dance music. Personally, I love Neo Soul music from artist like Jill Scott, Angie Stone, Floetry, India Arie, Alicia Keys, Maxwell, John Legend and the likes. Also, I enjoy R&B music and Jazz music that feed the soul. It is very calming, and provides mindfulness that help my creative juices flow.

A: I love HGTV, the Food Network and my husband and I enjoy watching TV series, and sports. However, I do enjoy shows like CSI and investigation related shows, cartoons with the kids, and family friendly show. I primarily watch American shows, but have been dipping into British shows as well.
A: I am an observer of kids and their behaviors. I pay close attention to how kids play together, their relationships, and the pureness in their hearts for family and friends. Also, I do research on keywords and concepts to enhance my stories or develop their rhythmic flow.
A: I live with my husband and two kids, so every part of my house reflects who I am, even the toy land in our living room, LOL. We are very family oriented and since we live close to New Orleans, we get a lot of visits from family and friends. I enjoying cooking and spending time with my family.
However, I’m a nester too, so I like to work in my office where I’m surrounded by books, a computer, printer and everything I need. My office is nestled right at our front door by a big window, so I get a lot of sunlight. I get the pleasure of watching people exercise and play (especially kids during COVID), people taking walks up and down our street, and my kids and husband riding bikes and scooters as well (I join them when it’s not too hot). It’s definitely a peaceful place.
A: I love Trolli Sour Brite Crawlers. I love them day, night and every time in between. When I’m in the zone I get up early in the morning or late at night, when it is peaceful and quiet in our house. Yes, Crawlers are always a companion in my writing journey. Otherwise, we eat a relatively healthy, balanced diet and I try to eat the Crawlers in moderation.
A: I normally read my stories to my 4-year-old daughter to see if she can follow the flow of the story first. If she gives me the crazy eye, I know I need to go back to the drawing board. If it’s a go, then, I show it to my husband, mom and sister. I am an independent author and created ZIZO Publishing to self-publish my books, so I do not have an agent or formal editor. I just hire the resources I need as I go and love the creative journey.
A: My husband and I love to travel and often I will write little stories while on vacation. We live in Louisiana but neither of us are from there. So, we travel a couple times a year to Texas and Washington, DC to visit our family. In addition, we normally take 1 big trip oversees.
